People uprooted from Allison Harbour (14)
Allison Harbour (formerly False Bay), in the Queen Charlotte Strait, was established by non-Indigenous settlers as a logging camp and Union Steamship port of call around 1927. The post office, store, and marine service station were built on floats in the harbour. The Dumaresq Brothers Logging Company (Kerr & Dumaresq Timber) worked along the coastline, and the camp operated in Merwith Sound, approximately forty kilometres from Allison Harbour. By late 1939, Japanese Canadian crews working for Dumaresq in Allison Harbour had been laid off.
