Call Creek, which became known as Call Inlet in 1949, was the location of K. Takahashi & Co Ltd. logging operations. Before 1942, it was not uncommon for logging operations to use floating camps that would move along the waterways, depending on the source of lumber. It is likely that Japanese Canadians located in Call Creek lived on one of these floating work camps or travelled to the area seasonally from Vancouver.
